Audio & Text ProjectThis project compares the signalling of discourse relations in written and spoken te reo Māori at different historical periods and develops a fully searchable database of spoken and written documents in te reo Māori using Greenstone Digital Library software. Pei Jones Research ProjectThis project involves the research, collation and development of ethical processes and appropriately displaying, in a digital format, the manuscripts, works and collected taonga of one of Maoridom’s prominent scholars the late Dr. Pei te Hurinui Jones. Māori Naming Research ProjectThis project explores and records traditional classification systems of naming flora and fauna within Tainui-waka. It also aims to investigate the relationship between indigenous taxonomy systems of Tainui-waka and the current Linnaean classification system. Whakataukī Research ProjectThis project aims to uncover the past relationships that Māori have with the environment through an interdisciplinary study of traditional Māori ecological knowledge as expressed through whakataukī or proverbs. |
